Short description of Mama-net GOLD:

Volleyball for seniors. The rules are adapted so everybody can participate. Fx. you have to catch the ball. Mama-net GOLD will be introduced by the inventors from Israel.

SPORT FOR ALL: Physical activities for seniors/ elderly people (55+)

Target group: Seniors 55+, who can walk and move without problems. Also: trainers/instructors with experience in and interest in physical activities for seniors.

Ages and Sex: 55 years and older for the active seniors. No age limit for trainers/instructors. Both females and males are welcome.

Providers of activities: Some member unions with experience in physical activities for seniors will be responsible for the activity program. Trainers/Instructors can exchange experiences and knowledge.

Activities for seniors: The participants will participate in both indoor – and outdoor activities. There will be two blocks (morning/afternoon) of activity, almost every day – which make it possible for all participants to try all the activities in the program.

The final program is not yet finished, but we can already reveal some of the activities that will take place in Riga 2017:

  • Percu’gym and bumper to fall (Gymnastic with music and drumsticks)
  • Mamanet GOLD (New ways of playing volleyball for seniors)

Short description of the activities:

Walking soccer: 

Soccer as you know it – but the rules are adapted so everybody can participate. You are not allowed to run under any cercumstances and running will earn you a penalty. It’s a very funny game and it will for certain make all participants both breath and laugth

Percu’gym and bumper to fall:

You could also call it drum-fitness and stump. With drumsticks and music FSGT will introduce this new way of fitness for seniors.

Short description of the activities:

Senior GYM:

Different exercises for strengthening the core muscles and challenging body awareness. Senior GYM is a combination of traditional and new exercises for seniors.

Krolf:

Krolf is a ball game which combines golf and crocket. It has proven very succesfull i both Denmark, Belgium and Austria. You have to try to get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. There will be arranged a small turnament.

Friday 16th June

Short description of the activities:

BodyART:

The comprehensive course program bodyART® is based on the five elements of Chinese medicine and regards the person as a unity of body, mind and soul. Through the exercises strength, flexibility and balance will be interconnected. Stability, coordination, well-being, improved posture, prevention and counteraction of back pain as well as stress reduction are positive effects of the unique training. By regular training the body will be shaped and you will feel strengthened and more vital in your everyday life. BodyART combines postures and classical breathing techniques with physical training and mental relaxation.

Rhythmical senior dances:

Simple group dances without partner. Quick learning without previous knowledge and it makes everybody  happy. Even older people prefer this way of movement, because coordination, balance, concentration and condition will be improved. By remembering different steps and choreography we reach brain activity.
