40 countries, more than 4000 participants: Opening Ceremony of V. CSIT World Sports Games 2017 in Riga today

Today in Riga, in Olympic Skonto hall we will celebrate opening ceremony of CSIT World Sports Games 2017.

After the parade that will happen on Valdemara street, we expect up to 4500 delegates to enter stadium. After the honorary walk around the venue arena, participating teams from guest countries will take their places and watch the ceremony to happen.

Games participants will hear honorary talks from sports organizations and nations leaders. With the welcoming speeches addressing participants there will be Mr. Bruno Molea CSIT (“International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation / Confédération Sportive Internationale Travailliste et Amateur”) president, Mr. Andris Berzins LTSA (“Latvijas Tautas Sporta Asociacija/Latvia people’s sports movement”) president, Mr. Karlis Sadurskis Minister of education, Mr. Zorzs Tikmers secretary general of Latvian Olympic committee and Mr. Andris Ameriks Vice Major of Riga.

We are most honored to have his excellency Mr. Raimonds Vejonis, President of Republic Latvia. Flags will rise and the opening of the V. CSIT World Sports Games 2017 in Riga will be officially announced.

Mr. Kaspars Gorkss, professional footballer, president of football club Riga, will cite the oath of fair play for the glory of sport and in the honor of all teams in the name of all participating athletes. Mr. Guntis Zalitis, sports director of WSG 2017 will cite the oath in the name of all the judges and officials, promising fair judgement of the games.

Tomorrow, on June 14 all the official championships in Riga, Jelgava and in Salaspils will happen, kicking off the competition part of the games.
